What would constitute a ‘green recovery’ and how can it be delivered?

Lockdown measures have led to unprecedented falls in travel, consumption and other economic activity. Though emissions have fallen in tandem, strong green recovery policies are needed to ensure these reductions put the world on a pathway to limiting global heating to 1.5C or 2C. So what should it mean to ‘build back better greener’? As we look ahead to the Budget in the autumn and COP 26 next year, this session will explore what the Government needs to do to ensure that its pandemic recovery policies meet the UK’s environmental obligations.
