The NHS after the pandemic: Beyond business as usual?

The pandemic has cast a spotlight on our health service. The government has had to ban NHS trusts from competing over PPE, calling into question the role of competitive market structures in public healthcare. Concerns have been raised over private companies’ involvement in everything from testing to procurement. Many have pointed to a lack of funding and preparedness across both health and social care. This session will explore the challenges covid-19 presents to the present model of how the NHS is structured and run.
